Lampung Province's NTP in February 2012 for each subsector was recorded at 134.16 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 112.75 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 126.57 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 105.48 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 113.80 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 124.69.
The increase in prices in the smallholder plantation sub-sector, such as the price of coffee, chocolate and rubber, as well as the increase in prices in the livestock sub-sector, such as beef, chicken and eggs, made Lampung's NTP increase 0.08 percent compared to the previous month.
Compared with January 2012, it can be seen that three NTP sub-sectors experienced an increase, namely the horticultural crops sub-sector which rose 0.28 percent, the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector rose 1.18 percent, the livestock sub-sector rose 0.54 percent. Meanwhile, sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the rice and secondary crops sub-sector which fell 0.40 percent and the fisheries sub-sector fell 0.39 percent.
Of the 32 provinces, 10 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 22 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in South Sumatra Province, namely 1.13 percent, this was because the price received by farmers increased by 1.20 percent, while the price paid by farmers increased by 0.07 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in East Java Province, which fell by 1.39 percent, because the price paid by farmers rose by 0.51 percent while the price received by farmers actually fell by 0.88 percent.
February 2012 saw deflation in rural areas in Lampung Province amounting to 0.12 percent. Deflation in rural areas was mainly caused by a decrease in the price index for the foodstuffs, transportation and communications group, as well as an increase in the index for other groups.
