Lampung Province NTP in August 2012 for each sub-sector was recorded at 135.79 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 113.47 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 127.34 for the Community Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP- Pr), 105.76 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 114.38 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 125.82.
The increase in prices in the food crop sub-sector, namely grain and cassava, as well as the fisheries sub-sector such as shrimp and mackerel, made Lampung's NTP increase 0.21 percent compared to the previous month.
Similar to what happened in July 2012, three sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the rice and secondary crops sub-sector which rose 0.74 percent, the livestock sub-sector rose 0.19 percent, and the fisheries sub-sector rose 0.31 percent. Meanwhile, the horticultural crops sub-sector experienced a decline in NTP of 0.13 percent and the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector fell 1.02 percent.
Of the 32 provinces, 18 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 14 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in Banten Province, namely 1.00 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers increased by 0.44 percent, while the price received by farmers increased by 1.45 percent. Meanwhile, the biggest decline in NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province, which fell by 0.53 percent, because the price paid by farmers rose 0.78 percent while the price received by farmers only rose 0.25 percent.
In August 2012, inflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of 0.80 percent. Inflation in rural areas was caused by an increase in the price index in all groups, especially the foodstuffs, ready-made food and clothing groups.
