Abstract

The total export value of Lampung Province in January 2011 reached US$ 224.88 million or decreased by US$ 58.82 million (20.74%) compared to exports in December 2010. When compared with January 2010, it increased by US$ 77.30 million (52 .38%) of US$ 147.58 million.

Eight main categories of goods experienced a decline in export value in January 2011. The largest decline in exports occurred in the category of animal/vegetable fats & oils, down by US$ 25.14 million; pulp/pulp amounting to US$ 12.81 million; and coffee, tea, spices US$ 5.80 million. Two other main categories of goods experienced an increase in export value, namely the cocoa/chocolate category which rose by US$ 4.65 million and organic chemicals by US$ 0.14 million.

The import value of Lampung Province in January 2011 reached US$ 253.84 million or decreased by US$ 30.25 million (10.65%) compared to December 2010 which was recorded at US$ 284.10 million. When compared with January 2010, Lampung Province's imports increased by US$ 80.32 million from US$ 173.52 million.

The largest increase in imports occurred in the wheat goods category, which rose by around US$ 6.36 million, fertilizer rose by US$ 5.08 million, and food industry dregs/waste rose by US$ 1.39 million. Four categories of goods, out of the 10 main categories of imported goods, experienced an increase, one did not change and five others experienced a decrease. The biggest decline in imports occurred in live animals, which fell by US$ 3.87 million and mechanical machines/aircraft, which fell by US$ 0.92 million.
