The total export value of Lampung Province in January 2012 reached US$310.5 million or an increase of US$88.9 million (40.14%) compared to exports in December 2011. Exports in January 2012, compared to January 2011, also increased by US$85.6 million (38 .09%) of US$224.9 million.
Four main categories of goods experienced an increase in export value in January 2012 compared to December 2011. The highest increase in exports occurred in the category of animal/vegetable fats & oils, US$119.7 million; rubber and rubber goods US$4.4 million; drinks US$1.2 million; and cocoa/chocolate US$0.3 million. Six main categories of goods experienced a decline, namely food industry dregs/waste US$49.4 million; pulp/pulp US$14.4 million; processed fruit/vegetables US$4.3 million; processed meat and fish US$2.9 million; fish and shrimp US$1.6 million; and coffee, tea, spices US$1.0 million. There were two new main categories in January 2012, namely beverages and dregs/food industry waste which replaced wood, wooden goods and organic chemicals in December 2011.
The largest contribution in January 2012 was dominated by four categories of goods, animal/vegetable fats and oils; coffee, tea, and spices; fish and shrimp; and processed fruit/vegetables, which each have a contribution of 52.64%; 7.61%; 5.63%; and 3.40% of Lampung Province's total exports. The role of these four groups reached 69.28% of the total export value in January 2012.
The main destination country for exports in January 2012 was India which reached US$342 million, followed by Italy, Japan, China and the United States respectively amounting to US$45.8 million, US$35.8 million, US$31.6 million, US$31, 5 million and US$24.6 million. The role of these five countries reached 54.50% of total exports in January 2012.
