Abstract
In August 2021, Bandar Lampung City experienced a deflation of 0.53 percent, as indicated by a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 107.41 in July 2021 to 106.84 in August 2021. Meanwhile the inflation rate for the calendar year ( year to date/ytd) and year-on-year (YoY) inflation were recorded at 0.45 percent and 1.18 percent, respectively.
Of the eleven expenditure groups, six expenditure groups experienced deflation, three groups experienced inflation and the other two expenditure groups did not experience changes in the consumer price index. The highest deflation occurred in the education group at 4.37 percent, followed by the information, communication and financial services group at 1.31 percent and the food, beverage and tobacco group with deflation at 0.82 percent. Of the six expenditure groups that experienced deflation, the cumulative share of deflation reached 0.55 percent. With the three groups of expenditures holding back deflation or inflation, in general, Bandar Lampung City's share of inflation reached -0.53 percent.
