Bandar Lampung September 2020, 0.26 Percent Deflation

September 2020, the City of Bandar Lampung experienced deflation of 0.26 percent. The decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September 2020 has decreased from 105.59 in August 2020 to 105.32. This deflation was supported by a decrease in the consumer price index in the five expenditure groups, namely; food, beverage and tobacco group from 106.44 in August 2020 to 105.73 in September 2020; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group (107.55); transportation group (104,81); recreation, sports and cultural groups (107.41); and personal care and other services groups (107,72). The highest deflation occurred in the food, beverage and tobacco group with 0.67 percent. Two groups experienced inflation, namely the health group at 0.05 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group of 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the other four groups did not experience price changes in September 2020.

Based on the dominant commodities that contributed to the formation of deflation in September 2020, it was noted that petai was the largest commodity that contributed to general deflation (0.07 percent).
