Bandar Lampung March 2020 Deflation of 0.44 Percent
March 2020, Bandar Lampung City experienced a deflation of 0.44 percent due to a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 105.71 in February 2020 to 105.25 in March 2020. Of the eleven expenditure groups in Bandar Lampung City, two groups experienced inflation (index increase), i.e. housing, water, electricity and other fuels by 0.10 percent; and the health group 0.09 percent. Conversely, six expenditure groups experienced deflation (decreasing index), namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.07 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance 0.24 percent; transportation group 0.13 percent; information, communication and financial services group 2.18 percent; recreation, sports and culture group 0.06 percent; and personal care and other services 0.09 percent. Meanwhile, the clothing and footwear group; education group; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group did not experience an increase or decrease in the index.
Dominant commodities contributed to the formation of deflation in March 2020 including, red chili by 0.16 percent; cell phone 0.10 percent; cayenne pepper 0.06 percent; rice 0.06 percent; tuna / ambu-ambu fish 0.02 percent; cooking oil 0.02 percent; squid 0.02 percent; air transportation 0.02 percent; mackerel / bloat 0.02 percent; and garlic 0.02 percent.
