Abstract
October 2018, Bandar Lampung City experienced inflation of 0.02 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 134.36 in September 2018 to 134.39 in October 2018. Two expenditure groups that experienced inflation in Bandar Lampung City, namely the group clothing rose by 0.08 percent and the transport, communication & financial services group rose by 0.65 percent. In contrast, the other five groups experienced deflation or a decline in the index, namely the foodstuffs group fell by 0.18 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco by 0.01 percent; housing, water, electricity & fuel 0.13 percent; health 0.02 percent and the education, recreation & sports group fell by 0.01 percent
The contribution of expenditure groups in the formation of inflation in October 2018 was from the transport, communication and financial services group of 0.10 percent. On the contrary, three expenditure groups contributed to the formation of deflation, each foodstuff group by 0.04 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.03 percent; and processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.01 percent. While the other three groups did not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.
Some commodities that predominantly contribute to the formation of inflation include: Red chili, rice, gasoline, motorbikes, house contracts, pans, pears, dispensers, carrots, and bloating / bloating.
