Abstract

Rice production in 2012 (Fixed Figure) was 3.10 million tons of Milled Dry Grain (GKG), an increase of 160.66 thousand tons (5.46 percent) compared to rice production in 2011. The increase in production was due to an increase in harvested area of 34 .90 thousand hectares (5.75 percent). Rice production in 2013 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 3.15 million tons of GKG, an increase of 48.53 thousand tons (1.56 percent) compared to rice production in 2012 (Fix Figure). The increase in production was due to an increase in productivity of 1.48 quintals per hectare (3.07 percent), namely from 48.32 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2012 to 49.80 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2013. Corn production in 2012 (Fixed Figure) was 1.76 million dry shelled tons, a decrease of 57.63 thousand tons (3.17 percent) compared to corn production in 2011. The decrease in corn production was caused by a decrease in harvested area of 20.65 thousand hectares (5.42 percent). Corn production in 2013 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 1.94 million dry shelled tons, or an increase of 184.68 thousand tons (10.49 percent) compared to production in 2012 (Fixed Number). The increase in production occurred due to an increase in harvested area of 37.30 hectares (10.35 percent) and an increase in productivity of 0.06 quintals per hectare (0.13 percent). Soybean production in 2012 (Fixed Figure) was 7.99 thousand tons of dry beans, a decrease of 2.99 thousand tons (27.23 percent) compared to production in 2011. The decrease in production occurred mainly due to a decrease in harvested area of 2.52 thousand hectares (27.34 percent). Soybean production in 2013 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 6.49 thousand tons of dry beans or a decrease of 1.50 thousand tons (18.82 percent) compared to 2012 (Fix Figure). The decline in soybean production is estimated to occur due to a decrease in harvested area of 1.42 thousand hectares (21.12 percent).
