Abstract

Rice production in 2012 (Provisional Figures) is estimated at 3.09 million tons of Milled Dry Grain (GKG), an increase of 152.63 thousand tons (5.19 percent) compared to production in 2011. The increase in rice production in 2012 was due to an increase in harvested area of 34.90 thousand hectares (5.75 percent).
Corn production in 2012 (Provisional Figures) is estimated at 1.74 million dry shelled tons, down 76 thousand tons (4.18 percent) compared to production in 2011. The decline in corn production in 2012 occurred due to a decrease in harvested area of 20.65 thousand hectares. (5.42 percent).
Soybean production in 2012 (Provisional Figures) is estimated at 8 thousand tons of dry beans, a decrease of around 2.99 thousand tons (27.23 percent) compared to production in 2011. The decrease in soybean production in 2012 occurred due to a reduction in harvested area of 2.52 thousand hectares (27.34 percent).
