Lampung
Province's NTP in December 2010 for each subsector was recorded at
127.59 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 107.18 for
the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 112.80 for the People's Plantation
Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 106.26 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt)
and 112.53 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the
Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 118.10.
The
increase in the price of grain due to the new start of the rice
planting season as well as the increase in the price of chocolate and
coffee which was triggered by the increase in the price of these two
commodities on the world market made Lampung's NTP increase 0.23 percent
compared to the previous month.
If
the NTP per subsector in December 2010 is compared with November 2010,
it can be seen that two of the five NTP subsectors experienced an
increase, the food crops subsector rose 0.41 percent and the smallholder
plantation crops subsector rose 1.20 percent while three subsectors
experienced a decline, namely sub horticultural crop sector (0.33%),
livestock sub-sector (0.95%) and fisheries sub-sector (0.68).
Of
the 32 provinces reported in December 2010, 12 provinces experienced an
increase in NTP, 19 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP and 1
province experienced no change. The highest increase in NTP in December
2010 occurred in North Maluku Province, namely 0.67 percent, this was
because the price paid by farmers only rose 0.38 percent, while the
price received by farmers rose 1.06 percent. Meanwhile, the largest
decline in NTP occurred in Maluku Province, which fell by 1.01 percent,
due to an increase in prices paid by farmers of 0.87 percent while
prices received by farmers fell by 0.14 percent.
In
December 2010, inflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of
0.70 percent. Inflation in rural areas was caused by a fairly high
increase in the price index in the foodstuffs group with an increase in
the price of chilies. Expenditure groups that also experienced an
increase in the index were processed food, housing, clothing and health
groups. Meanwhile, the other two groups did not experience changes.
