Bandar Lampung, 6 June 2024 - In an effort to improve the quality of agricultural statistical data in Lampung Province, the Lampung Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recently carried out monitoring and supervision of the implementation of agricultural economic surveys in the BPS Bandar Lampung City area.
Functional Statistics Associate Expert, Ir. Dwiyana Suharyati, MM as the supervisory team from BPS Lampung Province was accompanied by a team from BPS Bandar Lampung City, chaired by Evie Ermawati, S.ST. MM BPS Intermediate Expert Statistics for Bandar Lampung City, carried out direct verification of selected respondents in Keteguhan Village, Teluk Betung Timur District and in the Way Gubak area, Sukabumi District, reviewing data collection methods, as well as evaluating the performance of BPS Bandar Lampung City field officers. This is done to ensure that the survey process runs in accordance with established standard operational procedures.
Apart from that, the supervisory team also provided guidance and training to Bandar Lampung City BPS field officers regarding interview techniques, problem identification, and handling special cases in the field. This step is expected to increase the capacity of officers in collecting quality data.
"We hope that through this monitoring activity, we can continue to improve the quality of agricultural statistical data in Lampung Province. Accurate and reliable data will really help local governments in formulating appropriate policies to support sustainable development of the agricultural sector," concluded Dwiyana.
The agricultural economic survey supervision activities in the Keteguhan area include individual agricultural management efforts such as fishermen with green mussels and sea fishing commodities. The officer met was Sulaiman Hendra, while in the Way Gubak area he met an officer on behalf of Fikayanti who was registering farmers with the galangal commodity.
This agricultural economic survey monitoring activity in Bandar Lampung is part of a series of monitoring carried out by BPS Lampung Province periodically throughout the Lampung Province region. This step is expected to maintain the consistency and validity of the agricultural statistical data produced.
