Implementation of the 2022 Commodity Flow Matrix (SMAK) Survey

Implementation of the 2022 Commodity Flow Matrix (SMAK) Survey

September 5, 2022 | BPS Activities

The Commodity Flow Matrix Survey (SMAK) was conducted to obtain the value of exports and imports, regions of origin and destination, as well as the types of commodities traded in the inter-regional export-import. The driving factor is the existence of trade transactions (exports and imports) between regions in the regional economic system. Export-import transactions between regions are one of the components in the formation of GRDP by expenditure. The calculation of GRDP at the provincial and district/city levels requires an inter-regional import-export component as final consumption for exports and supplies other than domestic output (imports as a deduction factor). In addition to being used for the preparation of GRDP, complete inter-regional export-import data can be used for the preparation of the Goods Flow Matrix and IRIO.
At BPS Bandar Lampung City, the number of samples for this survey is 25 companies. The number of officers is 4 PCL and 1 PML. Officer training was held on July 25, 2022 at the BPS Hall of Bandar Lampung City. Then continued with the enumeration in September 2022 with the technique of enumeration, namely interview visits on PAPI-based questionnaires. After the enumeration is complete, processing is carried out in the range of September-October 2022 using web entry.
Until now, the implementation of SMAK is still running. Hopefully this series of activities can run smoothly, all respondents can work together to make data collection successful, so that at the end of the SMAK series, the survey results can be published to the general public and beneficial for all parties involved.
