Employment Situation of Lampung Province in February 2019
The number of workforce in February 2019 was 4,408.1 thousand people, up 12.2 thousand compared to February 2018. However, the Labor Force Participation Rate fell by 0.75 percentage points.
In the past year, unemployment was reduced by 15.9 thousand people, in line with the Open Unemployment Rate which dropped to 3.96 percent in February 2019. Judging from the level of education, the Open Unemployment Rate for the University, the highest among other education levels, namely 8.15 percent.
The working population is 4,233.6 thousand people, an increase of 28.1 thousand people compared to February 2018. The dominant jobs absorb labor, namely the agricultural sector by 47.97 percent, the trade sector by 16.83 percent and the industrial sector by 8.47 percent.
A total of 3,022.5 thousand people (71.39 percent) work in informal activities. During the past year (February 2018-February 2019), informal workers fell by 1.72 percentage points.
Based on working hours for all jobs, the highest percentage in February 2019 is full employment (minimum working hours of 35 hours per week) of 61.36 percent. Whereas residents who work with 1-7 hour working hours have the smallest percentage, which is equal to 3.76 percent. Meanwhile, non-full workers were divided into two, namely part-time workers (31.34 percent) and half unemployed workers (7.31 percent).
