January 2017, the city of Bandar Lampung back experienced inflation of 0.84 percent because of the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 127.31 at 128.38 in December 2016 into January 2017. Five groups of expenditure contributed inflation in Bandar Lampung, namely transport, communication and financial services contributed an inflation of 0.48 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.12 percent; foodstuff by 0.10 percent; health group by 0,09 percent; and processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.07 percent. Instead of two groups of expenditure, namely clothing and education, recreation, and sport contributes respectively deflation of 0.01 percent.
Some of the dominant commodity inflation contributed including vehicle registration renewal fees, electricity, rice, pulse rates of mobile phones, maintenance / service, gas, powder, rice with side dishes, chili sauce, and shrimp wet.
Based on the calculation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the inflation of Bandar Lampung due to an increase in the index of food group index increased by 0.45 percent; food, beverages, and tobacco products rose by 0.36 percent; housing group rose by 0.46 percent; health group rose by 2.01 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services rose by 3.11 percent. Instead clothing group index declines (deflation) by 0.03 percent; and education, recreation, and sport fell by 0.17 percent.
Inflation in Bandar Lampung is ranked 50th of the 82 cities observed price changes. Of the 82 cities, all cities experiencing inflation, where inflation was highest in London by 1.82 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded at 0.09 percent Manokwari.
Bandar Lampung, in January 2017 based on the calculation of the rate of inflation (point to point) is 0.84 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) amounted to 3.35 percent.
