In preparing economic development plans, information is needed about economic developments in a relatively short period of time. The information in question can, among other things, be obtained through reviewing quarterly GDP data and indicators. Apart from planning, quarterly GRDP can also be used to develop econometric models to observe short-term or seasonal economic fluctuations.
During the second quarter of 2012, Lampung's economy grew 4.55 percent from the previous quarter (q to q). Compared with the same quarter in 2011 (y on y), Lampung's economy increased by 6.35 percent. Cumulatively or during one semester of 2012 Lampung's economic growth (c to c) grew 5.90 percent.
Sectoral growth "q to q", all economic sectors experience positive growth. The largest growth occurred in the Finance, Rental and Corporate Services sectors which grew at a rate of 14.63 percent, while the Services sector grew 14.05 percent, and the Transportation and Communications sector grew at a rate of 6.07 percent. However, when compared with the same quarter of the previous year "y on y", it was recorded that all sectors experienced positive growth except for the Manufacturing Industry sector which experienced negative growth.
Lampung's economic structure in the second quarter of 2012 did not experience significant changes in composition and sequence. The agricultural sector still has the largest role in the Lampung economy.
In terms of expenditure, growth in the second quarter of 2012 was 4.55 percent (q to q) mainly due to the Government Consumption component with a contribution to growth of 2.82 percent.
Growth in the second quarter of 2012 "y on y" was 6.35 percent, influenced by the Household Consumption component with a contribution to growth of 3.51 percent, Stock Change of 1.69 percent and Gross Fixed Capital Formation of 1.55 percent.
The GRDP structure according to expenditure in the second quarter of 2012 is dominated by the components of Household Consumption (49.43 percent), Net exports (20.92 percent) and PMTB (16.96 percent).
