Abstract

  • Rice production in 2011 (Fixed Figure) was 2.94 million tons of dry milled grain (GKG), an increase of 133.12 thousand tons (4.74 percent) compared to rice production in 2010. The increase in production was due to an increase in harvested area of 16 .37 thousand hectares (2.77 percent) and a productivity increase of 0.91 quintals per hectare (1.92 percent), namely from 47.54 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2010 to 48.45 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2011.
  • Rice production in 2012 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 3.08 million tons of GKG, an increase of 143.99 thousand tons (4.90 percent) compared to rice production in 2011 (Fixed Number). The increase in production was due to an increase in harvested area of 25.94 thousand hectares (4.27 percent) and an increase in productivity of 0.29 quintals per hectare (0.60 percent), namely from 48.45 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2011 to 48. 74 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2012.
CORN
  • Corn production in 2011 (Fixed Figure) was 1.82 million dry shelled tons, a decrease of 308.67 thousand tons (14.51 percent) compared to corn production in 2010. The decrease in corn production was caused by a decrease in harvested area of 66.59 thousand hectares (14.88 percent), but there was an increase in productivity of 0.20 quintals per hectare (0.43 percent).
  • Corn production in 2012 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 1.83 million dry shelled tons, or an increase of 7.39 thousand tons (0.41 percent) compared to production in 2011 (Fix Figure). The increase in production occurred due to an increase in productivity of 0.49 quintals per hectare (1.04 percent), even though there was a decrease in harvested area of 2.37 thousand hectares (0.62 percent)
SOYA BEAN
  • Soybean production in 2011 (Fixed Figure) was 10.98 thousand tons of dry beans, an increase of 3.66 thousand tons (49.95 percent) compared to production in 2010. The increase in production occurred mainly due to an increase in harvested area of 3.04 thousand hectares (49.02 percent).
  • Soybean production in 2012 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 7.60 thousand tons of dry beans or a decrease of 3.38 thousand tons (30.81 percent) compared to 2011 (Fix Figure). The decline in soybean production is estimated to occur due to a decrease in harvested area of 3.04 thousand hectares (32.95 percent), despite an increase in productivity of 0.38 quintals per hectare (3.19 percent).
