The total export value of Lampung Province in March 2012 reached US$ 273 million or an increase of US$ 45 million (19.76%) compared to exports in February 2012. Exports in March 2012, compared to March 2011, decreased by US$ 8.9 million (3.16%) of US$281.9 million.
Six main categories of goods experienced an increase in export value in March 2012, namely animal/vegetable fats & oils of US$68.1 million; food industry dregs/waste US$3.7 million; steel items US$2.4 million; processed fruit/vegetables US$2.2 million; organic chemicals US$2.0 million; and processed meat and fish US$1.3 million. The four main categories of goods that experienced a decline in export value were coffee, tea, spices worth US$9.6 million; fish and shrimp US$2.7 million; pulp/pulp rose US$2.6 million; and Rubber and rubber goods US$1.1 million.
The largest contribution to export value in March 2012 occurred in animal/vegetable fats and oils; coffee, tea, and spices; pulp/pulp; and processed fruit/vegetables, each contributing 47.53%; 7.59%; 6.51%; and 5.81% of total exports in March 2012 in Lampung Province. The role of these four groups reached 67.43% of the total export value in the same period.
The main destination country for exports in March 2012 was Italy which reached US$47.8 million, followed by China, the Netherlands and India with US$29.7 million, US$28.0 million and US$27.1 million respectively. The role of the four reached 48.61% of total exports that month.
