Lampung Province NTP July 2011 for each subsector was recorded at 133.59 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 110.24 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 123.28 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 106.39 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 114.54 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 123.51.
The increase in prices in the food crop sub-sector, such as the price of grain and corn, as well as the increase in prices in the smallholder plantation crop sub-sector, such as coffee and pepper, made Lampung's NTP increase 0.69 percent compared to the previous month.
If the NTP per sub-sector in July 2011 is compared with June 2011, it can be seen that three NTP sub-sectors have increased, namely the food crops sub-sector which rose 1.15 percent, the horticultural crops sub-sector which rose 0.26 percent, and the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector which rose 0. 56 percent. Meanwhile, two sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the livestock sub-sector which fell 0.40 percent and the fisheries sub-sector fell 0.18 percent.
Of the 32 provinces, 13 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 19 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in Banten Province, namely 0.74 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers only increased by 0.40 percent, while the price received by farmers increased by 1.14 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province, which fell by 1.39 percent, due to an increase in prices paid by farmers of 0.88 percent while the prices received by farmers only fell by 0.51 percent.
July 2011 saw inflation in rural areas in Lampung Province amounting to 0.74 percent. Inflation in rural areas was mainly caused by an increase in the price index for the foodstuffs group, and was supported by an increase in all indices. Quite high inflation usually occurs before the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan until the Eid al-Fitr holiday
