The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Bandar Lampung Municipality recorded a monthly (month-to-month/m-to-m) inflation rate of 0.43 percent in December 2025. This figure was higher compared to the same period in December 2024, when inflation stood at 0.36 percent. On a year-on-year (y-on-y) basis, Bandar Lampung Municipality experienced an inflation rate of 0.44 percent in December 2025.
“The year-on-year inflation rate in December 2025 was lower than the year-on-year inflation rate in December 2024, which was recorded at 1.67 percent,” said the Head of BPS Bandar Lampung Municipality, Hady Suryono, on Monday (January 5).
Hady reported that the highest inflation in Bandar Lampung Municipality occurred in the Personal Care and Other Services expenditure group, which recorded an inflation rate of 6.99 percent with an inflation contribution of 0.43 percent (y-on-y). Meanwhile, the lowest inflation was recorded in the Transportation group, with an inflation rate of 1.28 percent and a contribution of 0.14 percent (y-on-y).
Hady further explained that five dominant commodities contributing the highest monthly (m-to-m) inflation were bird’s eye chili (0.19 percent), gold jewelry (0.07 percent), packaged liquid milk (0.04 percent), squid (0.03 percent), and gasoline (0.02 percent). In December, several commodities also contributed to deflation, helping to curb overall inflation. The five dominant commodities contributing to monthly (m-to-m) deflation were salak (snake fruit) at 0.04 percent, red chili at 0.03 percent, men’s denim jeans at 0.02 percent, shampoo at 0.02 percent, and broiler chicken meat at 0.02 percent.
Furthermore, the annual (year-on-year/y-on-y) inflation of Bandar Lampung Municipality, as recorded by BPS, is presented based on eleven expenditure groups. The highest y-on-y inflation rate was observed in the Personal Care and Other Services group, at 6.99 percent. Meanwhile, the largest y-on-y contribution to overall inflation came from the Food, Beverages, and Tobacco group, with a contribution of 0.98 percent and a y-on-y inflation rate of 3.31 percent. In contrast, the Education group experienced y-on-y deflation of 16.98 percent, with a deflation contribution of 1.39 percent.
“The ten commodities contributing the highest annual (y-on-y) inflation were gold jewelry, red chili, bird’s eye chili, house contract rent, household fuels, broiler chicken meat, rice, packaged liquid milk, automobiles, and house rent,” Hady explained.
Among the four regencies/municipalities covered by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Lampung Province, the lowest annual (year-on-year/y-on-y) inflation rate in December 2025 was recorded in Bandar Lampung Municipality at 0.44 percent, while the highest annual (y-on-y) inflation rate was recorded in Mesuji Regency at 2.69 percent.
Bandar Lampung Municipality recorded a monthly (month-to-month/m-to-m) inflation rate of 0.43 percent, while Mesuji Regency recorded a monthly inflation rate of 0.87 percent. Meanwhile, East Lampung Regency recorded a monthly inflation rate of 0.81 percent, and Metro Municipality recorded a monthly inflation rate of 0.67 percent.
