Implementation of Sakernas February 2024

The National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) is a special survey to collect employment data. The collection of employment data through SAKERNAS has three main objectives. The three objectives are to find out: Employment opportunities, and their relationship to education, number of working hours, type of work, field of employment and employment status; Unemployment and underemployment; Population included in the non-labor force category, namely those who are in school, taking care of the household and doing other activities. Sakernas is a routine activity of BPS which is held every 2 times a year (semester). The first semester is held in February and the second semester is held in August. Starting from the implementation of Sakernas in February 2024, there has been a change in the data collection mode from PAPI to CAPI by utilizing the FASIH Mobile application. The series of Sakernas activities began with training for field officers followed by field data collection/enumeration. In the first semester of 2024, BPS Bandar Lampung City held a training for Sakernas field officers at the Yunna Hotel Bandar Lampung on January 22-24, 2024. The number of officers involved was 4 PML and 8 PCL. The number of census blocks targeted for enumeration was 17 census blocks. Before field data collection began, the census block contents were updated first, where samples would be obtained. The updating activity was carried out on January 25 - February 8, 2024. After the updating was carried out, a sample of 10 households could be drawn for each census block, resulting in 170 sample households. Field data collection was carried out on February 15 - March 7, 2024. The entire series of activities could be carried out smoothly as expected. Hopefully in the future, the output of this activity can be useful to support the determination of public policy by the government.
