The National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) is a special survey to collect employment data. Collecting employment data through SAKERNAS has three main objectives. The three objectives are to find out: Job opportunities, and their relationship to education, number of working hours, type of work, employment field and employment status; Unemployment and underemployment; The population included in the non-labor force category is those who go to school, take care of the household and carry out other activities. Sakernas is a routine BPS activity which is held twice a year (semester). The first semester is held in February and the second semester is held in August.
The series of national sakernas activities begins with training for field officers, followed by field data collection/enumeration, and ends with data processing from the enumeration results. In the second semester of 2023, BPS Bandar Lampung City held training for national sakerna field officers at the Sheraton Lampung Hotel on 03-04 August 2023. The number of officers involved was 13 PML and 25 PCL. The number of census blocks that were targeted for enumeration was 68 census blocks. Before field data collection begins, the contents of the census blocks where the samples will be obtained will first be updated. The updating activity was carried out on 09-14 August 2023. After the updating was carried out, a sample of 10 households could be drawn for each census block, resulting in 679 sample households. Field data collection was carried out on 15-31 August 2023. The entire series of activities could be carried out smoothly as expected. Hopefully in the future, the output from this activity can be useful in supporting the formulation of public policies by the government.
